I tried several techniques for the fur.
In the end I duplicated the furry faces, flipped and offset them to create transparent layers on top of the furry parts. These layers stack more near the original faces, creating a gradient.
The original eyes were a little bit creepy, so I did some fake anime-style reflections for the eyes.

A couple of tiny turtle ducks swimming on a pond, based on the turtle ducks from Avatar: the last airbender (amazing series by the way).
I did this small piece as a way to learn Blender and try some fur techniques. I find myself constantly wanting to improve it and add more things to it (a lilly pad, fishes, moree furryness...) but I think this would benefit from simplicity.
The original rights belong to Nickelodeon, this is just a fanart and Im not related to them in any way.
