We had base a couple of models already purchased, but we had to add the cuts, some parts from scratch, and create or adapt all textures and materials for real time use.

A sagital cut of the spine. I modeled one section of the spine in Modo, made an array with these sections, and bended the spine using a lattice.
I hate this render, don´t know why I keep it here.

Editorial Planeta - Viaje alucinante

After working on several projects with the pharmaceutical company Roche, they asked us to illustrate a book about the human body, and adding augmented and virtual reality features to the book: the book includes a cardboard device that the reader can use to view a 360 video of a trip trough the human body, and he/she can also scan images from the book in order to see them in 3D imposed over the real world; as well as having some fun with quizs and other games using the mobile app.

I was responsible for some 3D models of the brain, skull, spinal chord and most histological cuts.
Juanan Pascual was responsible for most of the renders, compositing, lighting and UI.
We also used some of the work done by Leo Coto: https://www.artstation.com/polcoto
Keep in mind that this was a team effort, and the whole team at La Frontera VR contributed to the project.

The book (which is in Spanish exclusively), can be purchased on most large book retailers in Spain.
